Adair, John Eric

(b. 1934) Gen Mgt
British academic. Best known for his three-circle model of leadership, which is based on overlapping circles representing the task, the team, and the individual. Adair’s model, otherwise known as action-centered leadership , is described in the book of the same name (1973). Like Warren Bennis, Adair, who has a military background, believes that leadership can be taught.
